El HTC EVO 4G corre bajo el sistema operativo Android desarrollado por google. En este caso HTC nos trae la versión Android 2.1 Eclair que llegó a los móviles Android en enero de 2010 e incluye las siguientes mejoras respecto de las versiones anteriores:
- Reconocimiento de voz. Ahora se puede dictar en lugar de escribir en cualquier campo de texto).
- Mejoras en el teclado virtual.
- Galería 3D, al estilo Cover Flow.
- Uso del gesto de “pellizcar” para hacer zoom en el navegador, la galería y en Google Maps.
- Nuevas aplicaciones de reloj/tiempo y noticias.
- Mejoras en Google Maps: sincronización de nuestros sitios favoritos, modo noche y auto completado de búsquedas.
- Google Goggles.
- Mejoras en la duración de la batería.
Hay que añadir también que el Evo 4G contará con una mejorada interfaz HTC Sense y Friendstream, una aplicación que rastrea todas las redes sociales en las que estás registrado y te muestra la actividad de tus amigos de forma conjunta o en widgets individuales.
Conectividad 4G
El HTC Evo 4G posee una conectividad para los estándares de hoy es prácticamente ilimitada y de gran velocidad, de este modo posee conexion con WiMAX con EV-DO Rev. A, WiFi 802.11 b/g, salida HDMI, Bluetooh y receptor GPS.
Este es el primer movil en acceder a la red WiMAX 4G de Sprint, que es la red móvil de datos más rápida disponible actualmente en Estados Unidos, ya que ofrece velocidades promedio en el rango de 2 a 4 Mbps. La desventaja es que la cobertura de WiMAX no llega aún a todo el país, a pesar de que Clearwire, el mayorista WiMAX de Sprint, se ha comprometido a lanzar sus servicios en todos los mercados importantes de EE.UU. a finales de 2010, cubriendo 120 millones de puntos de presencia.
Ademas de todo esto también puede usarse como hotspot WiFi, compartiendo su conectividad con hasta ocho dispositivos.

Por otro lado HTC EVO 4G posee una cámara trasera de 8 megapíxeles con autofocus y flash LED dual capaz de grabar vídeo en alta definición a (720p), lo que junto a la salida HDMI permite utilizarlo como reproductor portátil y una cámara delantera VGA de 1.3 megapíxeles.

El HTC Evo 4G cuenta con un procesador Qualcomm Snapdragon (QSD8650) a 1GHz, que ofrece a los usuarios la capacidad de ejecutar múltiples aplicaciones complejas al mismo tiempo. Esto junto a una memoria RAM de 512MB, y 1 GB de memoria interna ampliable mediante tarjetas microSD, le permitirá al EVO 4G, ejecutar cualquier aplicación para móviles sin problemas.

El EVO 4G viene con una pantalla táctil de 4.3 pulgadas con resolución resolución WVGA de 800 x 480, y capacidad TFT LFC, lo que lo acerca al concepto de smartbook o tablet, corre con Android 2.1 con una mejorada interfaz HTC Sense y Friendstream pero para que se terminen de babear vean sus especificaciones completas, más fotos y después me cuentan que les parece ;) :

El movil HTC EVO 4G estará disponible con Sprint en EEUU a partir del 4 de junio y es complicado que llegue a otros mercados que no trabajen con la red WiMAX. Para que llegue a España seria necesario el desarrollo de las redes 4G o bien una adaptación para redes 3G de este mismo terminal.
